Tin Can Junction’s – Tech Travel Review

The Ripley’s Believe it or Not is a great destination for people of all ages. The attraction has much to offer and is fun and educational. Broken into 4 separate attractions, each with unique charm.

Odditorium Experience

The Odditorium has three stories of exhibits. Each exhibit has a little placard with information about the items. There are many interactive exhibits and media centers playing informative videos about the exhibits.

You enter the first level, there is a collection of oddities like the fattest man ever and taxidermied animals. As you make your way through the exhibits you learn more about Ripley and his travels around the world. There are many lifelike mannequins throughout the exhibits, some look so real, you have to do a double take. There are large numbers of art pieces, from all over the world, created using all kinds of materials. There are exhibits representing countries and customs from all over the world.

One of my favorite exhibits was the Titanic exhibit. The exhibit was very large and went through the entire history of the Titanic. The exhibit provides you a details picture of what happened and how it must have felt to be on the ship.

If you only do this attraction at Ripley’s Believe It or Not this is the one. The close to 500 exhibits provides you with an incredible source of information.

Mirror Maze

This was by far my favorite part of the trip to Ripley’s Believe It or Not. The attraction is a large indoor maze of mirrors and archways with some hidden exhibits. Your goal is to go through the maze and come out on the other side. Ripley’s sells 3D glasses for an additional $2.00 that you can wear through the maze. I found that it was just as fun without the glasses.

When you enter the maze, you are asked to put on some plastic gloves, so you don’t put finger prints on the mirrors. Entering the maze, you find that the entire maze changes colors. You can see some of the exhibits and they look far, far away. You navigate the maze and then some hidden exhibits light up along the way. It is very easy to get turned around. I ended up going out the door I entered in. The staff allowed me to try again and I was able to find the correct exit.

I defiantly would go through the maze again.

7D Theater

The 7D Theater is an experience that you have to try once. The experience is completely immersive and is very thrilling.

Ripley’s offers 4 different experiences. You make your selection and are given 3D glasses as you enter the theater. Once inside, you select your seat. The attendant will help you get bucked in. You are given an electronic gun and you are off. The movie is a 3D animated adventure. Your seat moves and you feel like you are experiencing the movie. Throughout the movie, you are shooting at things. In my case, it was little monsters. You feel every bump and the wind blowing on you. Everything in the theater is designed to make the experience feel real.

I enjoyed the attraction. It is bumpy, so if you have a bad back, you may want to skip this one.

My only complaint was that it was short, no longer than 10 mins.

Impossible Laser Race

One person enters the room at a time. Green lasers shoot out of the wall. Your goal is to go under and over the lasers without touching them. Once you navigate the lasers, hit the button on the other side.

This attraction requires flexibility. If you are older and/or out of shape, you may want to skip this one. This is a great attraction for kids.

Conclusion

Ripley’s Believe It or Not is a fun destination. The attractions and educational experience are worth the trip. Up front, the admission cost may seem like a lot, but at the end, I feel it was worth the price.
